Wire Binding

Lay-flat wiro bound booklets for manuals, handbooks and everyday use

Wire bound, also known as wiro bound, booklets hold your pages on a metal wire-o spine, so documents lie completely flat and fold back on themselves. Whether you are printing staff handbooks, notebooks or technical guides, wiro binding keeps your pages secure and easy to reference. We also offer plastic spiral binding as a lower-cost alternative.

At B&D Print, we produce wire-o and spiral bound booklets in A4, A5, A6 or custom sizes, with covers laminated for extra durability. Pages print single or double-sided on your choice of stock, with options including tab dividers and index pages.

Wire binding FAQs

What is the difference between wire and spiral binding?

Wire binding, or wiro binding, uses a double-loop metal spine for a clean, professional finish, while spiral binding uses a plastic coil at a lower cost. Both let the booklet lie flat and fold back on itself. Wire-o suits client-facing documents, while plastic spiral suits high-use internal copies.

How many pages does a wiro bound booklet hold?

Wiro and spiral bound booklets hold from around 20 up to 200 pages, depending on the paper weight you choose. Thicker inner pages reduce the maximum page count. Send us your page count and stock and we will confirm the right binding size.

Which wire colours are available?

Wire-o binding comes in black, white, silver, gold and more, in a 2:1 or 3:1 pitch depending on page count and size. Tell us your preferred colour and finished size and we will match it.

Do wiro bound booklets lie flat?

Yes. Both wire-o and plastic spiral binding let the booklet open a full 360 degrees and lie completely flat on a desk. This is why they suit manuals, handbooks and notebooks people refer to while working.
